Today is World Fragrance Day! I don’t think I’d ever given the sense of smell a whole lot of thought, until I began living in Grasse, just a bit over ten years ago. Flowers and fragrance are so very present here, you can’t help being impacted by scent. When we first began creating our Villa des Parfums fragrances, every time I met with the ‘nose’ at Molinard to smell things and work on our fragrances it made me cry! I couldn’t understand it, and I couldn’t control it, but she explained to me that our emotions are so intimately connected to our sense of smell that we are deeply moved by the smell of things…so tears aren’t that unusual! Truly, this perfume-creation-adventure has been such a beautiful, surprising and incredible journey! I am learning so much about myself, others and the infinite beauty of creation.

Today is also the 2nd day of Spring. Grasse is so beautiful at this time of year, the weather is mild, the flowers are blooming and my heart is filled with gratitude.
